Learn Italian in Small Group Classes with Parola School

The group Italian language courses at Parola school are all held in the morningsMonday through Friday.

We offer small group lessons. In fact, our group Italian language courses do not hold more than 12 students, with an average of 7 students per class.

Our group language courses in Florence provide an opportunity to socialize and interact with others on your level while learning Italian.

Our group Italian language courses follow this morning schedule, every weekday. Please note that there must be at least 3 students to form a group language class at our school:

  • Grammar session (9:00 am to 10:50 am)
  • Conversation session (11:10 am to 1:00 pm)

Note: group language courses are available in the afternoon upon request.

*Minimum of 3 students necessary per class.

Our Group Italian Language Courses

ALLEGRO

4 hours of lessons per day, Monday through Friday, for a total of 80 hours (4 weeks), 60 hours (3 weeks), or 40 hours (2 weeks) + up to 10 hours per week of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Program Of Study

The course consists of 2 hours of grammar and 2 hours of conversation each morning, Monday to Friday.

Type of Course

This is our standard course, which guarantees grammar coverage and group practice in Italian.

MOLTO ALLEGRO

6 hours of lessons a day for a total of 120 hours (4 weeks), 90 hours (3 weeks), or 60 hours (2 weeks) + up to 10 hours per week of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Program Of Study

This intensive course is a group class that consists of 4 hours in the morning (2 hours of grammar and 2 hours of conversation) plus 2 hours of review and practice in the afternoon.

Type of Course

This intensive group Italian course guarantees excellent results, as it provides 6 hours of study per day. The 2 hours in the afternoon are flexible; they can be used for conversation or to review grammar, as determined by the students’ needs.

Notethis language course requires that there are at least 3 students who enroll in the MOLTO ALLEGRO course in order to offer the afternoon session.

QUINTETTO 80 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

This intensive course is specifically designed for language students who want to improve and deepen their knowledge of Italian as much as possible in a very short time. In fact, the advantage of this course is that there is a low number of students (maximun 5), which ensures intensive study and the individual progress of each student.

As long as there is at least other 2 students who enrolled for a small class course, the school arranges this type of course, which allows an optimum learning because of the very limited amount of languages students.

Note: in case a student registered for a “Quintetto” class and eventually it was not possible for Parola school to arrange it, the course will be changed into one-on-one Italian language lessons.

Program Of Study

4 hours of lesson per day *3 to 5 students (max.) per class. 80 hours of lesson (20 hours per week) + 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Type of Course

This small group course achieves excellent results due to the restricted number of students.

ANDANTE – 40 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

This course allows students to study Italian with less of a time commitment than our other courses. This Italian language course consists of 2 hours in the morning: it is up to the student whether they prefer to study 2 hours of grammar or 2 hours of conversation.

Program Of Study

2 hours a day, 5 days a week, for a total of 40 hours of lessons a month + 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Type of Course

This is a good course to study Italian grammar or Italian conversation without a major time commitment per week.

ALLA PARI – 24 hours/one month – (For Au Pair students)

This Italian language course is designed for students who work as Au Pairs in Florence. Au Pair students will receive language tutoring for 2 hours at Parola School (from 9:00 am to 10:50 am), three times a week, for 1 to 7 months, as determined by the student.

Au-Pair Language Program

2 hours a day, 3 days a week for a total of 24 hours of lessons per month + 10 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities in Florence.

TRE VOLTE – Three times a week – 24 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

This course is designed for those students who want to study Italian 3 days a week. These students can receive language lessons for 2 hours (from 9 am to 10:50 am), three times a week for 1 month or more. In addition, students have one hour of grammar review every 2 weeks.

Program of Study

2 hours a day, 3 days a week for a total of 24 hours of lessons + 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Type of Course

This is a good course for studying Italian language grammar without going to school every day.

TRE VOLTE PLUS – Three times a week – 48 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

Tre Volte Plus adds an additional two hours of conversation to the standard Tre Volte course. Students receive Italian language lessons for 4 hours (from 9:00 am to 1: 00 pm), three times a week for 1 month or more.

Program of Study

4 hours a day, 3 days a week for a total of 48 hours of lessons + 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Type of Course

This course is aimed at students who cannot (or do not wish to) attend school every day. These students still benefit from the study of both Italian grammar and conversation.

TONO – 10 hours a week – 40 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

Tre Volte Tono adds an additional 4 hours of conversation to the standard “Tre Volte” course on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students receive Italian language lessons for 2 hours (from 9:00 am to 10:50 pm), three times a week, then they take a conversation class on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:10 am to 1:00 pm, for 1 month or more. These students also benefit from up to 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Short Language Programs For Small Groups of Students

MINUETTO – 10 hours a week – 40 hours/one month + 40 recreational hours

The Minuetto course offers 2 hours of conversation, Monday through Friday from 9 to 10:50 am. for 4 weeks. This language program focuses on fluency, vocabulary, and pronunciation. It is held in the morning so students have a free schedule for the remainder of the day. Students also benefit from up to 40 hours of optional cultural and recreational activities for free in Florence.

Note: it is mandatory that the MINUETTO course is held with at least 3 students.

TOCCO – 10 hours a week – 10 hours/1 week + recreational activities

Parola Italian language school offers a very light course for language students who already know some Italian and wish to study for a short time during their stay in Florence. Our language course is offered to those who are in Florence for a short vacation and want to practice Italian or brush up on their Italian language knowledge. Usually, the Tocco course is taken by Italian language learners who wish to stay in Florence for a language holiday and want to use their time proficiently by learning and refreshing their Italian.

Note: in order to be offered, the Tocco course requires at least 3 students.
